Department of Geology

Year of Establishment: 2008

Introduction

Department of Geology was established in 2008 with intake capacity of 40 students. Department has well-equipped laboratory and provides Geology education with both hands-on experience working in a lab setting, along with classroom instruction. The lab has number of teaching aids like Ore/Mineral and Rock Specimens, Models and Charts. Students learn how to apply the scientific method and develop research attitude in a diverse range of subjects such as Hydrogeology, environmental study, Geomorphologic study, Petrology and remote Sensing. The subject Geology is offered with two combinations namely Geology-Chemistry-Computer Science and Geology-Chemistry-Physics. This Department strives to create an environment that enables teaching and overall development of student to attain high levels of excellence   and full potential. Department runs a UGC Sponsored Career Oriented Course on Geographical Information System (GIS) for students of B.Sc. Geology and B.A. Geography., so that students can develop potential  and skill to earn while learn.
